Built in 1971 replacing the soaring steel and glass structure that once stood in its place, the Concourse Building at Chicago Union Station was last renovated in 1990 and does not meet the demands of a modern train station nor that of the 110,000 commuter and long-distance passengers that use the station every day.

This project will redesign the Concourse. The new design will make more room for passengers and provide a higher level of service and amenities. The renovation will incorporate contemporary thinking around sustainability, inclusivity, and universal design. It will reduce congestion, improve wayfinding, expand restroom capacity, enhance the passenger waiting and boarding areas ultimately providing a welcoming environment for Amtrak and Metra customers.

Please take this survey. Your responses will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Concourse at Chicago Union Station.
